Woodstock Luthiers Showcase 2018 Wrap-up!
Posted Nov 06, 2018
Each year, the PRS Private Stock Acoustic team visits the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase in Woodstock, New York. "Woodstock" as it's affectionately referred to by attendees, is a showcase of the finest acoustic guitars built by the most talented luthiers in the country.
This year was a big year for the Woodstock showcase as the event celebrated its 10th Anniversary. For the past 4 years, PRS has been a proud sponsor and exhibitor at the event.

From Friday to Sunday, approximately 50 builders and another 20 or so vendors all gather at the Bearsville Theater in New York state. The theater is open to the public, encouraging all to experience seminars on building and inlay, as well as acoustic performances by some of the best players in the business. All weekend long our booth was bustling with acoustic musicians!
At the Friday night concert, attendees were treated to a performance by PRS acoustic artist Tony McManus and Julia Toaspern.
On Saturday evening there was a special dinner party that celebrated women in the acoustic guitar industry.
We asked the acoustic team to share their favorite memories from the trip:
Austin // Acoustic Luthier : Each year I love the friendships formed at Woodstock. It’s fun to travel with my co-workers and meet people who are just as passionate about acoustic guitar making as we are.
Joey // Acoustic Luthier : I loved meeting and getting to know the people who buy our guitars and support us. It’s always interesting to hear their stories.
Paul // Director of Private Stock : My favorite memory was being able to hear Joey play our instruments in front of the Woodstock crowd. You sort of have to earn your stripes to play at this event, and this was Joey’s third year attending so he was honored by the opportunity to play. I also loved seeing the PRS guitars on display at other people’s booths, Aulson Inlay had one of ours, Cardinal Finish had one of our guitars, and there was even an SE electric hanging up on a gentleman’s homemade guitar stands.
